The Cub Scout colors are blue and gold. They have special meaning,
which will help boys see beyond the fun of Cub Scouting to its
ultimate goals.
The blue stands for truth and spirituality, steadfast loyalty,
and the sky above.
The gold stands for warm sunlight, good cheer, and happiness.

Could your unit use some extra cash? Our Scouts sold $3.6 million in
popcorn last year. Of that amount, over 70% of the sale proceeds
stayed local. In fact, 1/3rd of that amount went directly to the
unit's that sold to fund their programs and activities!
There are exciting prizes for all the Scouts who sell popcorn,
(Like the patch to the left!)!
Additional special prizes for Scouts in the National Capital Area
Council include either a free week at Goshen Scout Reservation, a
free week at an NCAC day camp, or a free session at Cub World at
Camp William B. Snyder, extra gift cards, scholarship funds and for
scouts who sell more than $1000 in popcorn- an exclusive Top Seller's
Day at Camp William B. Snyder! This Top-Seller's Day will have
special program areas, give-a-ways, food, and a special afternoon
show.

Popcorn enables your unit to do the things you want without having to
do lots of fund raisers. The idea is to have this one fund-raiser in
the fall support the entire year of Scouting. This is an officially
approved council unit money-earning project that many packs and troops
participate in each year. Do your sale in the fall and reap the
benefits for the rest of the year.
Washington National's Baseball
Every Scout that sends in a completely full, not duplicated sheet
between September 4th and November 20th will get two (2) free tickets
to a Washington Nationals game in May 2010. Sheets will be verified
and logged to ensure each scout gets the proper amount of tickets.
Scouts are not limited to the amount of tickets they can obtain as
long as the requirements are met. The TOP selling scout in the council
will get to throw out the first pitch!! Each full sheet must be a NEW
full sheet each week. Example; 1 Scout sends in 4 full sheets
during the September-November time frame, that Scout will get eight
(8) free tickets to the Scout Day National's Game. Please make sure
that all lines are full and that the contact information on the bottom
is complete. This is the only way we can communicate with you about
the tickets.
Fill It Up!
Again we will be conducting our Fill -It-Up program. Every week from
September 4 through November 20, 2009 we will be conducting a weekly
drawing. Each Friday at Noon we will draw a full sheet from the sheets
that have been turned in and the winner will be getting a $100
Wal-Mart gift card. Sheets must be submitted by Noon each Friday
to be entered into the drawing. You can fax your full sheets into
the Council Service center at 301-564-3648 or you can scan and email
your sheets to
popcorn@boyscouts-ncac.org or
drop them off at 9190 Rockville Pike Bethesda, MD. NOTE( On-line
Sales can not be used as part of the Fill-It-Up Incentive).
