The Cub Scout colors are blue and gold. They have special meaning,
which will help boys see beyond the fun of Cub Scouting to its
ultimate goals.
The blue stands for truth and spirituality, steadfast loyalty,
and the sky above.
The gold stands for warm sunlight, good cheer, and happiness.

Operation Christmas Child

Despite the "weakest spending environment that the U.S. economy has
faced in 17 years," families are continuing a tradition of giving.
They're joining Operation Christmas Child in the effort to help needy
kids suffering from natural disaster, war, poverty and famine - with
a shoe box.
Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in
desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes
and the Good News of God’s love. Since 1993, more than 61 million
shoe boxes have been packed, shipped, and delivered across the globe.
People of all ages can be involved in this simple, hands-on missions
project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus Christ.
Kids in America are playing an important role in helping some 8
million needy children in more than 100 countries - through a shoe box.
U.S. families are partnering with Operation Christmas Child to send
gift-filled shoe boxes to children worldwide who are suffering from
natural disaster, war, terrorism, disease, poverty and famine. The
small gesture communicates a big message: "We care about you!"
For many children, the shoe box gift will be the first gift they have
ever received.
On Tuesday, November 18, 2008, we packed 15 shoeboxes which amounted to
one big box to be shipped out!!
